  • No, not in all circumstances; however, sometimes it is a Contractual requirement. Given all the complexities of settlement, we would highly recommend engaging a settlement agent

  • Yes! Your estate agent or broker may recommend someone but you do have the right to choose your own settlement agent.


    You can also CHANGE settlement at any time (best to discuss with your preferred settlement agent first)

  • For settlements that are pursuant to a Contract we work with the dates contained therein.

    If you have specific dates in mind chat to your settlement agent BEFORE you sign the Contract.

  • Let your settlement agent know immediately. We highly recommend contacting your bank ASAP to discuss arrangements in these circumstances. Settlement shortfalls left unaddressed may result in a delay in settlement.

  • No! Most settlements now occur electronically, but regardless we attend settlement on your behalf. We will notify of the settlement booking and then contact you to confirm once settlement is complete.

  • If the property is the sellers principle place of residence you are entitled to access from 12pm the day after settlement.

    If it is not the Sellers principle place of residence then you are entitled to access immediately after settlement.

    This may alter depending if the Contracts makes special reference.

  • Tell your settlement agent immediately. We want to make sure you sign everything required.

  • We recommend you contact your bank once an offer has been received.

    This will ensure the bank as enough time to process your request. We don't know the structure of your finance or what what the bank will need.

  • We cannot tell you your final contribution for settlement until your bank confirms what they are handing over at settlement.

    They won't give us this figure until they are ready, so get everything sign and back to them ASAP.

  • Let your settlement agent know immediately.

    Unless you will be back in Australia prior to settlement you will need to have certain documents signed at the Australian Consular Office
